I'm a native Californian and a proud graduate of LAUSD public schools. Supporting public education has always been close to my heart because I truly believe it's one of the best ways to promote equity and create opportunities for all kids, no matter their background or income. Strong public schools help close the gap, and that’s why I care so deeply about them.
After college, I worked as a forensic scientist in the LAPD crime lab while attending law school at night. I went on to spend 20 years practicing intellectual property law before deciding to step away from my legal career to spend more time with my two young children, who were then students at Hugo Reid Elementary. Recently, I have become involved with Shared Streets, a youth-led non-profit organization that is dedicated to advocating for safer, more accessible, and more equitable transportation infrastructure, especially around our schools.
My journey—as a student, a professional, and a parent—has shown me just how important it is to invest in our public schools. I’m passionate about helping create a system where every child has the chance to thrive.
